Instructor Planning Guide
Thank you for your willingness to instruct in the ArtBreak Studio program. We encourage you to develop a project that is instructive and versatile. Some attendees will be creative and interested in instruction that guides and encourages their skills. At the other end of the continuum will be people who enjoy the community and the opportunity to do something they enjoy; they may not engage completely in the project or may ask to do something else.
Accordingly, we have more than one approach in the studio environment:
1. Instruction that you provide that will engage people and create enjoyment and a sense of accomplishment.
2. Materials and tools that people can use and enjoy but that do not require interest or skills to feel a part of the program. For example, adult coloring books and other art supplies are available if requested.
This is an introductory program, and some of our participants will have had little or no art experience. So the goal is to provide a social and emotional engagement through the creative process.
We have a varied collection of art supplies, so please review the Art Supply Inventory as you plan your project. We are happy to purchase what you need, but supply requests should not be expensive, unusual, or too difficult to obtain.
Specifically for your instruction: At least one week before you are scheduled to lead your class, please fill-out and submit the form below. It will be sent to Becki Spangler, the supply guru, who will see to it that you get what you need. Please feel free to contact her directly with questions ([email protected]).
